What are the best villages to visit in Paros?

1. Lefkès, the most authentic

Nestled on the highest point of the island, Lefkès sets the tone with its view of the island of Naxos and the immaculate houses which extend like an amphitheater over the hills.

Stroll through picturesque paths and a beautiful pine forest. Then explore the village of Lefkès to soak up its peaceful atmosphere.

The flowery streets are home to old shops and a folklore museum displaying pottery. Go back to the time when Lefkès was the capital of the island by visiting the Adia Triada church and that of Saint John the Baptist, decorated with post-Byzantine sculptures.

In the evening, enjoy a great dinner at a tavern. The village also organizes a summer festival with dance, music and theater shows.

2. Naoussa, the pearl of Paros!

Piso Livadi is another beautiful village in Paros, on the southeast coast. Its charming fishing port offers a pleasant stroll, dotted with seaside cafes and fresh fish taverns. The main attraction remains Logaros Beach. The contrast between the turquoise water and the copper rock makes it one of the most beautiful beaches for swimming in Paros.

The village of Marmara, nestled in the mountains about 10km from Parikiá, takes its name from the marble blocks once used for houses. You can admire churches built with remains of ancient temples, including that of the Assumption of Mary and its 3 belfries of different styles. In addition, Marmara is the most fertile land in Paros. The orchards extend for miles away!

The harvested products represent key ingredients of the tasty cuisine served in the village’s establishments. You will be greeted at the entrance by a traditional windmill, emblematic of the villages of Paros and their rural history.
