Best Current NBA Players 6’0″ and under

Here are my picks of the three best players currently in the NBA that are 6 feet or shorter (in order by last name):

  • Mike Conley
  • Chris Paul
  • Fred VanVleet

Don’t agree? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of the post.

Mike Conley, Minnesota Timberwolves (6’0″)

All Current 6’0 and under NBA Players (2023-2024) (14)

Mike Conley has been one of the most solid, underrated NBA point guards over the past decade.

He is also one of the most respected and classy players in the league, having won the NBA Sporstmanship Award a record four times.

Conley is currently in his 17th NBA season and 3rd team (Memphis, Utah, Minnesota). He has averaged over 10 points per game, and 4 assists per game for 15 straight seasons!

Some of his other NBA achievements include: 1x All-Star, 1x All-Defensive Second Team, Teammate of the Year, 4x Sportsmanship Award, All-Star H-O-R-S-E Competition Winner

Conley is also the Grizzlies all-time franchise leader in points, assists, 3-pointers made, and games played.

Conley is currently 36 years old, and nearing the end of his tremendous career. The Timberwolves are one of the top teams in the league, so he may be able to add a bit more to his resume before it’s all over.

🤝 Stayin classy: Mike Conley holds the NBA record for most games played without receiving a technical foul.

Chris Paul, Golden State Warriors (6’0″)

All Current 6’0 and under NBA Players (2023-2024) (15)

Chris Paul, a.k.a. “CP3“, is one of the best point guards of all time. The 6’0 floor general is so good that he is sometimes referred to as a “point god”.

While he is not physically intimidating, Paul has been able to dominate the NBA with his high basketball IQ, elite playmaking skills, and ultra efficient mid-range shooting. He was also a great defender in his prime, and led the league in steals per game 6 times.

Paul is currently in his 19th NBA season, and 6th team (New Orleans, LA Clippers, Houston, OKC, Phoenix, Golden State). He has averaged double digit scoring, and over 7 assists per game in every year of his career (so far).

Some of his other NBA achievements include: 11x All-NBA Team (4x First, 5x Second, 2x Third); 9x All-Defensive Team (7x First, 2x Second); 12x All-Star; 1x All-Star Game MVP; Rookie of the Year; All-Rookie First Team; 5x Assists Leader; 6x Steals Leader; and member of NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

CP3 also has two Olympic gold medals with Team USA (2008 – Beijing; 2012 – London).

The only thing missing from Paul’s storied career is an NBA championship. He got to the finals once with Phoenix in 2021, but ended up losing to the Bucks in six games.

Paul is currently 38 years old, and nearing the end of his career. He only has a couple more seasons to get that elusive ring. It will be a pity if he can not win one, but he will still go down as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history.

🤯 Chris Paul is the only player in NBA history to record 40 points, 15 assists, and 5 steals in a game.

Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets (6’0″)

All Current 6’0 and under NBA Players (2023-2024) (16)

Fred VanVleet is one of the best undrafted NBA players of all time.

The crafty guard went from a summer league tryout player to NBA All-Star over the past 6-7 seasons.

He is currently in his 8th NBA season (2016-present), and 2nd team (Toronto Raptors, Houston Rockets).

VanVleet’s scoring went from 3 ppg in his rookie season to 20 ppg in 2021-2022. He is currently averaging around 16.5ppg and a career high 8+ apg for the Houston Rockets this season (2023-2024).

Some of his NBA career achievements so far include: NBA Champ (2019); All-Star (2022), D-League Champ (2017).

VanVleet is currently 29 years old and in the prime of his career. He is now a vet leader on a young, up-and-coming Houston Rockets team that will be looking to make some noise over the next few years.

🦖 Raptor record: VanVleet holds the Toronto Raptor franchise record for most points (54) and most assists (20) recorded in a single game.
