This sloppy joe biscuit recipe comes to us from another one of our hometown cookbooks, like our Crock Pot Calico Beans, but this time the 1988 version of the Extension Homemakers Shelby County (Indiana) Cookbook.

How to Make Sloppy Biscuit Bombs

Step By Step Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook beef; drain excess grease from ground beef, if needed.
  2. Add ketchup, BBQ sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice (or use leftover sloppy Joes); stir to mix well.
  3. Press biscuits into greased muffin tin.
  4. Divide meat mixture, and fill biscuits with sloppy joes.
  5. Bake until golden brown approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  7. Turn oven off, return sloppy joe biscuit bombs to the oven for a few minutes until cheese is melted.

Storage Instruction

Let leftovers cool completely. Store in an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (or white vinegar)
